Two days away from flying back to Mexico and we realized that we forgot to do the blog last May! 

We went on a fantastic one week trip to Chiapas with four Mexican friends. 

After a long day travelling we arrived in Tuxtla Gutierrez, Chiapas

The Mayan ruins in Palenque were impressive. 

Only 5% of the buildings have been excavated.

Las Nubes - beautiful scenery with many waterfalls

Huge limestone cave systems

With some unusually shaped stalagmites!

We stepped over the border to Guatamala (literally)

At Las Guacamayas we fell asleep to sound of the howler monkeys!

We saw a lot of wildlife, including large crocodiles

They know how to eat in Mexico!

We bought some jaguars to take back from this cheeky chappy in San Cristóbal

Meanwhile, back in El Centenario... this doesn't look like it will end well.

Our friend Rafa cooked us another fantastic dinner (I helped a bit)

Leanne is unrecognizable after her visits to Kathy's

Not before Ruth arrived with daughter Grace and friend

We took a boat trip to the Isla Espiritu Santo

Hanging out with my 'tocayo' Pablo - it's a hard life... 

We were lucky to see a humpback whale and calf (great photo Ruth!)

and hundreds of stingrays leaping!

Sadly, Leanne's Mom Shirley passed away in March

On a happier note, this little fellow arrived on Jonathan's birthday, May 20th

February/March 2025

The year is almost a quarter gone. We have had lovely separate visits from the family in January and February. 

Lilly arrived and took a trip on the boat across to Paraiso del Mar

She's getting to be really good in the pool!

The No Mas Basura concert at Willie & Carol's was brilliant as usual.

Speaking of stocking up... there must be a 2 for 1 special, or anticipating a rush in sales?

The sisters at 'La Parcelita' produce such consistently tasty food. We go every week.
