February/March 2025

The year is almost a quarter gone. We have had lovely separate visits from the family in January and February.
Lilly arrived and took a trip on the boat across to Paraiso del Mar

She's getting to be really good in the pool!

Words of wisdom from 'Aba'

Scooting along the malecon

A misty morning for a change

We went to watch the whales from the beach on the Pacific side

Then back to the pool again!

Plenty of items in stock!

The No Mas Basura concert at Willie & Carol's was brilliant as usual.

Speaking of stocking up... there must be a 2 for 1 special, or anticipating a rush in sales?

The sisters at 'La Parcelita' produce such consistently tasty food. We go every week.

This looks like an abstract painting

Step away Leanne... this dog at the local tire shop was lovely

Preparing for the next visitors...

Morning popsicles while we watch venomous snake videos!

We even created our own venom

More pool action!

February is Carnaval time. What a brilliant parade this year!
Rylie and Oakley loved the 4 storey amusement arcade!

Rylie always wants to go higher!

Me and my pal Oakley at the beach.

Both kids got to drive the boat when we went whale watching

Oakley looked very at home...

oops... somebody call the fire department!

Oakley had his first driving lesson

Weird jellyfish clouds

We can't bare to wash Rylie's "Come up and be happy"
 chalk away

Paul did the last Blue Monday concert with Lloyd Jones and special guest Mitchel Forman

Here's a short video of our whale watching trip to Puerto Chale. Amazing!

Late 2024 into January 2025

This is our 10th year of doing this blog. Unbelievable how time flies. We try to make the most of it!

Here are the photos...

We all know, Leanne loves this kind of thing...

For years no street sign, now we have two! Calle 16 and 16th

Raúl's daughter Sylvia got married to the sound of a saxophone

The benefit concert was a huge success, we raised a lot of $$

Ruth arrived with pneumonia, but after a week of rest she was belting it out!

Neighbourhood watch

Initially quite a shock when we turned a corner in the desert (giant tarantula?)

Blues Monday #1. The old dog was happy on stage (we don't mean Paul!)

Nighttime paw prints from our mystery cat that keeps the varmints at bay

Another lovely trip on Mike's boat 'Triskelion'

Chef Rafael and lovely helper Tanya cooked us a superb 4 course dinner

We are so lucky

Another Saturday at La Concha, great place for a gig in December!

They take Christmas seriously here in La Paz

Back in Canada for Christmas, Lilly gets her dream dessert

Rylie gets to enjoy all aspects of horse riding

Oakley's favourite stocking gift... no one will steal his Japanese Mayo!

We ended Christmas Day with a game of "pie in your face"

Blues Monday #2 at Joe's Garage, La Ventana

The night after the gig, we woke up to this - thanks Roger & Su for putting us up

There's room for one more...

Mar Libre Benefit Concert - November 30, 2024

We are hosting a Benefit Concert again this year on Nov 30th in La Paz, Mexico. Paul's band Bradley McGillivray from Vancouver are flying down to play, plus a number of local musicians including our friend, Grammy award winning trumpeter, Terry Townson. ALL musicians are donating their time and ALL proceeds will support a local charity.

This year we are supporting “Mar Libre”  - a local group of volunteers who give talks on environmental education in La Paz schools all year round and clean up reefs and mangroves every month. All money raised will be donated to increase their activity in local schools, with the aim to employ another full-time teacher.

We are sorry you can’t be there, but we would like to encourage you to help us raise a large amount to support this worthy environmental cause.

If you would like to donate, please e-transfer direct to Leanne’s email   leannef0807@gmail.com

we will convert it to local currency and combine it with the concert’s proceeds.

Last year we raised over $6000 US to give to a local medical clinic.

Thanks everyone - Please share this with anyone you think can support our efforts or would like to learn more.

Paul & Leanne

The aim is to employ another full-time teacher.
