June to October 2026

Before we head back to Mexico in November, here is a selection of photos from summer/fall.
Jonathan turned 40 in May!!
And on the same day (May 20) Huntly turned one!
We love taking our 'grand dog' Vanna out for walks (and Rylie too)
In June one of my old friends Simon visited us in Vancouver.
Back to London in July with the view across Trafalgar Square down to Big Ben.
We went to see Ronnie Scott's Jazz Orchestra on the first Monday. Unbelievably good!
The Harry Potter Studio Tour did not disappoint.
Took the train up to York to visit a (really) old friend Julian (70!) and wife Gina
Ripponden, West Yorkshire is where we used to live (30 years ago)
Our old house 'Highwayman's Cottage' is looking good
A breakfast beer after walking to The Alma on my birthday
Still one of my favourite beers. Timothy Taylor's tastes best in Yorkshire

Liverpool now (keep up...) we met these guys on the train to The Open Golf at Birkdale

We can now officially go home. Leanne has seen Rory McIlroy

Doing the tourist thing on the Magical Mystery Tour bus

Just one of the iconic locations we visited (and sung about on the bus!)

Manchester has really changed since we left the UK. Contrast of old and new at Castlefield

We missed Oakley's 7th birthday (July 15) and someone else made a 'Minecraft' cake

Now in the Peak District, Derbyshire - visiting wonderful Chatsworth House.

In Bakewell, Leanne couldn't resist the opportunity to dress up

One of many beautiful starts to the day...

We hiked around the Peak District for a week, such beautiful countryside

We never got lost

Well, maybe once... ha ha

The English can't handle summer... never happy with the weather

Our final challenge, Stanage Edge near Hathersage, Derbyshire

Well worth it, the view was awesome

Back in London and a final night at The Royal Albert Hall for a Proms concert

Back to Canada, and little kitchen helpers (we need to establish a dress code!)

This is what happens when an 8 year old steals your phone for 5 minutes

We took the entire crew on a cruise to Alaska

Couldn't resist this photo opp

Grumpy grizzly in Sitka, Alaska

Standing on the beach at full moon, our feet kissed by the ocean... ;)

A typical Alaskan activity

We also took the Jeeps over some rough terrain

Then Leanne went to Shanghai, China... of course she did.

Back to birthdays. Rylie specifically requested (and designed) this cake

Oakley is into hockey and has chosen to be the goalie! "Mind the gap!"

Lilly's first day at the big school

It's looking like we should be heading south soon.

Very sadly, Phil's Dad Brian Cowan passed away in mid May. He will be greatly missed.
